How does a SIE file work for accounting?

How can WEIQ automate your bookkeeping with SIE files?

We often receive questions regarding how information about all transactions in our system ends up in one's accounting. The answer is SIE, and it is a standard for importing files into accounting systems.

The abbreviation stands for Standard Import and Export and is based on Swedish accounting rules. The file contains information on which accounts in the BAS chart of accounts should be debited and credited for all transactions that occur in our system. The equivalent in your cash register system is all purchases made, and in WEIQ, it means all orders and payments made with customers' phones.

Why do I need a SIE file?

To save your accountant and yourself countless hours of work, you can automate your bookkeeping. Almost all accounting systems support importing SIE files, so the standard works for practically everyone!

With WEIQ, you can easily set up a chart of accounts in our back office (WEIQ Admin) and let your accountant choose how purchases made through the app should be accounted for. Everything happens automatically when you close your day, and the file is easily sent via email to you or your accountant. This way, you'll have a clear overview of what you sell through WEIQ and your finances! Because you know that all purchases made through an app solution must actually be registered in a cash register, right?
